Copper and Gold Higher. Stocks to Watch: FCX and NEM

miningNew York, Feb 17th (TradersHuddle.com) – Mining companies like Freeport McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) and Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) will likely see a lift during today’s trading session.

The euro seems that it will continue to strengthen against the Dollar, sparking demand for commodities as an alternative investment. Copper futures are indicating 0.34% higher to $325/lb and Gold futures are also fractionally higher by 0.07% to $1120.60 per t. oz.

Freeport McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) is the largest copper producer in the world, and has also gold producing properties. Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) is the largest gold producer in the world.
