Earnings Preview: Corning

New York, July 27th (TradersHuddle.com) - Shares of Corning, Inc. (NYSE:GLW) are trading higher by +0.95% ahead of its quarterly earnings release. Corning, the LCD and optical fiber maker is expected to release its quarterly results on July 28^th.

Wall Street Analysts consensus calls for a profit of $0.52 a share on $1.65 billion revenue.

Corning estimates have a range of $0.07 a share. The high estimate calls for profit of $0.55 a share and the low estimate is calling for a profit of $0.48 a share, a year ago for the quarter the company reported $0.39 a share.

Corning's (NYSE:GLW) principal activity is to produce optical fiber and cable, as well as, specialized products utilizing glass. It produces glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays used in notebook computers, monitors, and LCD televisions. The company also producing optical fiber and cable, and hardware and equipment. The Life Science segment produces laboratory products, which includes microplate products, coated slides, filter plates for genomics sample preparation, plastic cell culture dishes, flasks and others.
