Itron Meter Reading Solution Coming to New Mexico Gas Company Customers

Itron Inc. (NASDAQ:ITRI) announced today a contract with New Mexico Gas Company to install approximately 345,000 natural gas modules with advanced automated meter reading technology. Itron will deliver its mobile collection system to streamline the data collection process. This state-of-the-art technology will enable New Mexico Gas Company meters to be read remotely and provides accurate and reliable meter readings, eliminating errors than can occur with manual readings. The installations are expected to be completed by March 2011.

This technology will virtually eliminate missed meter reads because of bad weather or difficulty accessing meters, which means dramatically fewer estimated bills.
