TradersHuddle Dow's Update, In focus:PFE, MRK, VZ, KFT, INTC

pfe New York, July 29th (TradersHuddle.com) - The Dow Jones Industrial Average is lower trading at 10422.5, which represents -0.72% versus its previous trading session close. The blue chip index is tumbling with only 3 Dow components trading higher.

Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) is the Dow's top performer this morning with the stock trading at $15.15 representing 1% versus the previous trading session. Shares of Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company maker of Viagra and Lipitor have defined support at $14 and resistance at $15.1.

Merck (NYSE:MRK) is also among the top performers early in the trading session, trading at $34.93 representing 0.54% from its previous close. Merck, the maker of Singulair and Zocor has calculated support and resistance levels at $34.41 and $36.8 respectively. The other top performer this morning is Verizon (NYSE:VZ), which is trading at $28.93 representing 0.07% from the previous trading session.

The Dow's worst performers include Kraft (NYSE:KFT) that is trading at $28.93 or -2.66% from the previous close. Shares of Kraft, the maker of Velveeta cheese and Oreo cookies have defined support at $27.59 and resistance at $29.525. Also among the worst performers we have Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), which is trading at $20.82 representing -2.39% from the previous trading session.

Benchmark crude for September delivery is also trading lower at $78.08 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange lower by $1.13 from the previous trading session.

The Dow is underperfoming the S&P 500 but is pretty much equal with the NASDAQ composite. The S&P 500 is currently trading at 1096.4, which represents -0.88% from previous close, the Nasdaq on the other hand is trading at 2235.82 that represents -1.27% from previous session.
