S&P 500's Update, In focus:CTXS , AMP , TER , LSI , SYMC

New York, July 29th (TradersHuddle.com) - The S&P 500 index is lower trading at 1096.4, which represents -0.88% versus its previous close. The broad market index is having an overall negative day with more than 70% of the S&P 500 components trading negative.

Citrix Systems (NASDAQ:CTXS) is the S&P 500's top performer this morning with the stock trading at $55.13 representing 16.48% versus the previous trading session. Shares of Citrix Systems, the only enterprise software company with end-to-end virtualization have defined support at $44.99 and resistance at $48.6.

Ameriprise (NYSE:AMP) is also among the top performers, and it is trading at $42.08 representing 9.93% from its previous close. Ameriprise, the financial planning firm has calculated support and resistance levels at $36.81 and $39.1 respectively. The other top performer this morning is Teradyne (NYSE:TER), which is trading at $10.96 representing 7.3% from the previous close.

The S&P 500's worst performers include LSI (NYSE:LSI) that is trading at $4.12 or -13.19% from the previous close. Shares of LSI, the maker of integrated circuits and storage systems have defined support at $4.62 and resistance at $5.14. Also among the worst performers Symantec (NASDAQ:SYMC), which is trading at $12.96 representing -11.66% from the previous trading session.

Benchmark crude for September delivery is also trading lower at $78.08 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange lower by $1.13 from the previous trading session.

The S&P 500 is underperfoming the Dow Jones but is pretty much equal with the NASDAQ composite. The Dow Jones Industrial Index is currently trading at 10422.5, which represents -0.72% from previous close, the NASDAQ on the other hand is trading at 2235.82 that represents -1.27% from previous close.
