PetSmart® Arrives in the Big Apple

This summer, Manhattan-area pets can have their specialty dog food and eat it too. PetSmart (NASDAQ:PETM) will make its Big Apple debut with the opening of two stores this year, offering pet parents a wide selection of products, professional services and advice for the total lifetime care of their pets – all under one roof.

The first store, located in the new East River Plaza shopping center at 517 E. 117^th Street, between Pleasant Avenue and FDR Drive, will launch on August 21 while the NoHo store at 632 Broadway, between Bleecker Street and West Houston Street, opens in November. The NoHo store, housed in a historical, 100-year-old building, has a boutique look and feel which local pet parents will appreciate. Both locations will introduce a home delivery option – a unique feature to meet the needs of the Manhattan pet parent.

• Ten thousand products to choose from, including accessories and apparel, breed-specific specialty foods and snacks, bedding and toys
• Full-service grooming salon where a sleek haircut is the finishing touch on clean ears, clipped nails and fresh breath
• Beginning, advanced, intermediate and private training classes for pets and pet parents
• State-of-the-art Doggie Day Camp day care center where pets can exercise and socialize with other dogs, especially when it's too cold for the dog park
• PetsHotel, a clean, comfortable boarding facility with spacious rooms, exercise programs, 24-hour supervision and on-call veterinary care
• Total medical care at the in-store Banfield veterinary hospital
• Knowledgeable associates who can provide advice for all pets – whether they bark, meow, slither, blow bubbles or chirp – from choosing a pet to buying the best foods and snacks, and more.
• Year-round opportunities to save the life of a pet through the in-store adoption program
