New York, August 10th (TradersHuddle.com) – Following are some of the top upgrades and downgrades before the market open.
Upgrades:
Akamai (NASDAQ:AKAM), the provider of delivery services for streaming media, was upgraded to a Buy from Neutral at Goldman
Macerich (NYSE:MAC), the regional shopping center REIT, was upgraded to a Buy from Hold at Deutsche Bank
QuinStreet (NASDAQ:QNST), the vertical marketing and media on the Internet Company, was upgraded to a Strong Buy from Buy at Needham.
Whole Foods (NASDAQ:WFMI), the owner and operator of organic and natural food supermarkets, was upgraded to a Buy from Neutral at UBS.
Downgrades
Autoliv (NYSE:ALV), the maker of automotive safety systems, including air bags, seat belt, and night vision devices, was downgraded to a Hold from Buy at Deutsche Bank.
Best Buy (NYSE:BBY), the consumer electronics goods and appliances retailer, was downgraded to a Neutral from Buy at Goldman.
Borg Warner (NYSE:BWA), the provider of engineered systems and components for automotive power train applications, was downgraded to a Hold from Buy at Deutsche Bank.
DigitalGlobe (NYSE:DGI), the high-resolution earth imaging and geo-information Company, was downgraded to a Hold from Buy at Canaccord Genuity.
Grand Canyon Education (NASDAQ:LOPE), the provider of online post secondary education services, was downgraded to Outperform from Top Pick at RBC Capital.
Mindray Medical (NYSE:MR), the medical device maker, was downgraded to a Hold from Buy at Soleil.
Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC), the maker of aircraft carriers and fighter jets, was downgraded to Market Perform from Outperform at FBR Capital.
Ntelos Holdings (NASDAQ:NTLS), the provider of wireless and wireline communications services to consumers and businesses in Virginia and West Virginia, was downgraded to Market Perform from Outperform at Wells Fargo.
Nuance Communications (NASDAQ:NUAN), the provider of speech and imaging solutions, was downgraded to a Neutral from Buy at Goldman.
Royal Bank of Scotland (NYSE:RBS) was downgraded to a Neutral from Outperform at Credit Suisse.
Superior Well Services (NASDAQ:SWSI), the oilfield services provider, was downgraded to a Neutral from Outperform at Macquarie. Superior Well was also downgraded to a Hold from Buy at Jefferies.
Tomkins PLC (NYSE:TKS), the diversified manufacturer operating in the industrial and Automotive, Engineered and Construction Products, and Air Systems Components markets, was downgraded to a Neutral from Outperform at Exane BNP Paribas.
TRW Automotive (NYSE:TRW), the automotive parts supplier maker of airbags, seat belts and steering wheels, was downgraded to a Hold from Buy at Deutsche Bank.
