The New York Times Launches International Weekly in Singapore

NEW YORK-( Business Wire )-The New York Times has launched its international news supplement in Today, Singapore’s daily newspaper. The publication joins a global network of newspapers in 29 countries that carry The New York Times’s international weekly, first introduced in 2002.
The weekly section, which will be published in English, provides readers with a selection of articles from The New York Times. The supplement retains the layout and typography of The Times and includes news coverage, features, commentary, color photos and graphics covering politics, world affairs, business, culture, style and social trends. It is prepared by The New York Times News Service.

Anderson, vice president of international and editorial development, The New York Times News Service. “This collaboration allows us to share The New York Times’s journalism with the globally aware, culturally active, business-involved readers of the Today newspaper.”

Launched in 2000, Today is published Monday through Saturday in Singapore. The newspaper is owned by MediaCorp, which also owns properties in television, radio, magazines and film. Today operates an online edition at www.todayonline.com.
The New York Times News Service, which produces The New York Times international weekly, provides articles from The Times, the Globe and other publications to almost 1,500 newspapers, magazines and Web sites in 90 countries worldwide. The News Service also maintains The New York Times Photo and Graphics Service. Articles and images are distributed via the Web site at nytsyn.com.
