HOUSTON-( Business Wire )-Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) will host a job fair in Lafayette, Louisiana on August 18 and 19 with the intention of interviewing applicants to fill open positions worldwide.
Approximately 50 Halliburton hiring managers will be available to interview applicants during the Halliburton Job Fair to fill positions covering numerous disciplines within the oil and natural gas services sector. The company is seeking experienced personnel in the following disciplines: reservoir engineering, drilling, fluids services, measurement while drilling and well completions. In addition, there are positions open for mechanics, field operators, sales people and related jobs.
“Halliburton is ramping up its hiring – particularly in the U.S. onshore – in order to provide a full suite of specialized services to our customers,” said Jeff Miller, Halliburton’s senior vice president for the Gulf of Mexico region. “We’re hosting this large-scale job fair in Louisiana because we know there is a deep bench of experienced oil and gas professionals throughout the state and we want those individuals to know that Halliburton is hiring and, more importantly, that we are an employer of choice.
“We’re looking for the best talent in the industry and in return, we have a wide range of job opportunities in a number of locations outside Louisiana where we can put people to work now,” said Miller.
Potential new hires may be offered positions in other states such as Pennsylvania, Texas, Colorado or North Dakota, or internationally in order to staff ongoing Halliburton projects.
“Halliburton has a long history in Louisiana and as part of our effort to give back to the region, some Halliburton employees are spending parts of their work day volunteering their services with area non-profits. I am proud of both Halliburton’s strong commitment to retain employees and proud of our employees for the work they are doing to support their local communities.”
Employees from Halliburton’s Lafayette and Houma offices have logged approximately 1,400 hours in the past six weeks working for the Houma/Thibodaux and Lafayette chapters of Habitat for Humanity and the Lafayette Association for Retarded Citizens.
Attendees at the Halliburton Lafayette Job Fair will be given an opportunity to apply for open positions and speak with a Halliburton hiring manager to discuss career opportunities and conduct interviews. The event will be held August 18 and 19 at the Hilton Lafayette Hotel, 1521 West Pinhook Road, Lafayette, Louisiana, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.
