Semis Outperfoming the S&P 500 :NVDA, VECO, AMAT

New York, August 19th (TradersHuddle.com) - The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is trading lower at $327.86, representing -1.28% from its previous close. The semiconductor index is tumbling with 27 index components on the negative side.

NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) is the top performer of the semis, trading at $9.54, which represents 2.35%. from the previous trading session. Shares of NVIDIA, the world leader in visual computing technologies have defined support at $8.65 and resistance at $9.52.

Veeco Instruments (NASDAQ:VECO) is also among the top performers, currently trading at $33.06 representing 0.67% from its previous close. Veeco Instruments, the provider of metrology and process equipment solutions has calculated support and resistance levels at $30.88 and $45.94 respectively. The other top performer of the semis is Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT), which is trading at $11.41 representing 0.22% from the previous trading session.

The semis' worst performers include Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS) that is trading at $17.99 or -4.56% from the previous close. Shares of Cirrus Logic, the provider of high-precision analog and mixed-signal, and embedded processors for audio and industrial markets have defined support at $17.80 and resistance at $19.35. Also among the worst performers is SanDisk (NASDAQ:SNDK), which is currently trading at $43.21 representing -3.68% from the previous trading session.

Today, the Semis are outperforming the broad market index S&P 500.
