James Fogler named publisher of The Burlington Free Press

MCLEAN, Va.-( Business Wire )-

Gannett's (NYSE:GCI) U.S. Community Publishing division has named James Fogler president and publisher of The Burlington (VT) Free Press. Fogler has been the vice president of marketing and communications for the Rochester (NY) Democrat and Chronicle. He succeeds Brad Robertson, who was recently named president of Gannett Local.

“Jim has had a long, successful career with Gannett and brings important sales and marketing skills to this position. His breadth of experience and leadership abilities will serve Burlington and The Free Press well,” said Bob Dickey, president of Gannett's U.S. Community Publishing. “With Jim’s consumer focus, The Free Press will continue to expand its role as a strong voice in the community as it has for 183 years.”

Prior to his role with the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Fogler was president and publisher of the Ithaca (NY) Journal from May 2004 to October 2007. He also held marketing leadership roles with Gannett media in Binghamton, NY; Poughkeepsie, NY; Westchester, NY; and Lansdale, PA.

Fogler has been with Gannett since November 1988 and is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.
