MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- USA TODAY announced Brad Jones, formerly vice president of business operations at USA TODAY, has been named senior vice president of circulation. He succeeds Larry Lindquist, senior vice president of circulation at USA TODAY, who is retiring after more than 29 years with USA TODAY and Gannett.
"Brad has been with USA TODAY for 22 years and is the ideal choice for this transition. He brings valuable business operations and circulation experience, a deep understanding of our markets and a competitive spirit for quickly building on our circulation successes. Larry's tenure built the largest print circulation newspaper in the country and we have no doubt that Brad will continue that legacy with his dedication to the newspaper," said David L. Hunke, president and publisher of USA TODAY.
Jones joined USA TODAY as controller of the Carolinas circulation market in 1988. In 1990, he was promoted to business manager of the National Customer Service Center in Silver Spring, Md., where he helped develop USA TODAY's core business and distribution systems – which are still in use today.
Jones was promoted in 1997 to general manager of USA TODAY's Dallas circulation market, where he was responsible for sales and distribution in Texas, Oklahoma and western Arkansas. In March 2000, he was named circulation vice president of USA TODAY's Midwest circulation region, and named vice president of the West region in 2005. Earlier this year, Jones was named vice president of business operations and was responsible for setting up the new National Business Operations Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Prior to working for USA TODAY, Jones worked for Redman Industries in Dallas. He is a graduate of Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting.
