Humana Names Stephen Macias Specialty Market President in Northern California

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-( Business Wire )-Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced that Stephen Macias has been appointed market president for the company’s specialty-product business in Northern California, effective today.
In this role, Macias will be responsible for sales of Humana’s specialty products, such as vision, dental, life and workplace disability, in Northern California. Based in Walnut Creek, Macias will manage a team of sales representatives and account executives focused on new-business sales development and customer relations.
During his 12 years working in the health care field, Macias has distinguished himself in progressively responsible leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Humana’s market practice leader for small-business health insurance sales in Arizona, where he was responsible for all health insurance products sold in the state to employers with 99 or fewer employees. Prior to that, Macias was employed at Health Net of Arizona where he was the director of Medicare sales and operations and the manager of individual and family plans. Macias began his career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona working with health insurance brokers.
Macias holds a bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University and a Masters of Business Administration in health care management from the University of Phoenix. A long-time Arizona-resident, Macias and his family are relocating to Northern California.
