Huntington Bancshares - Top Performing Bank

New York, September 8th (TradersHuddle.com) - The KBW Bank Index closed higher at $45.91, which represents 1.68% from its previous close.
The bank index had a broad rally with all Index components on the positive side.
Huntington Bancshares (NASDAQ:HBAN) was the top performer of the banking index, closing at $5.77 representing 5.29%. versus the previous trading session. Shares of Huntington Bancshares, the regional banking holding company based in Columbus, Ohio have defined support at $5.04 and resistance at $5.84.
Regions Financial (NYSE:RF) was also among the top performers, closing at $6.88 representing 4.72% from its previous close. Regions Financial, the Alabama based regional bank has calculated support and resistance levels at $6.25 and $7.14 respectively. The other top performer was KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY), which traded at $7.98 representing 3.37% from the previous trading session.
The bank's worst performers include Citigroup (NYSE:C) that closed at $3.84 or 0.26% from the previous close. Shares of Citigroup, the diversified financial services firm have defined support at $3.64 and resistance at $3.98. Also among the worst performers was U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB), which is currently trading at $22.32 representing 0.4% from the previous trading session.
Today, the banks outperformed the broad market index S&P 500.
