Major North American Network Operator Chooses EXFO's End-to-End Voice, Data and Video Monitoring Solution

QUEBEC CITY, Oct. 4, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EXFO Inc. (Nasdaq:EXFO) (TSX:EXF) announced today that a top-tier North American network operator has selected EXFO's end-to-end voice, data and video monitoring solution to support its multiplay service offering. The same operator also selected an EXFO solution for its DNS response time measurement needs.
EXFO's customer needed a proactive, end-to-end solution that could monitor voice, data and video performance across their multiplay network and merge the measurements into their OSS. Thanks to true multiplay support, BrixView VoIP and MPLS reporting, as well as RTP and video testing capabilities, the Brix Solution was chosen. Key components were the BrixCall and BrixNGN Solutions, which cover more than 50 points of presence (PoP) and easily integrate into the customer's operating support system (OSS).
The same network operator was also looking for a solution to measure DNS response time across its global network, merge the measurements into their OSS and present the results to a worldwide audience of network engineers and planners. The BrixCall Solution was selected on the strength of its active verifiers deployed globally for monitoring, as well as support for existing IPv4 DNS clusters and new IPv6 DNS servers.
"These wins are the result of our ability to support true multiplay, as well as our continued efforts to ensure that our solution is customized for seamless integration into our customer's OSS. This, along with our proactive monitoring capabilities, explains why EXFO was chosen by our customer for end-to-end voice, data and video performance monitoring", said Vivian Hudson, Vice-President of EXFO's Service Assurance Division. "Customization and OSS integration were also key in securing the DNS response time contract. Both these deals will help cement our long-term relationship with this major network operator and further demonstrate the flexibility and technological advancement of our Brix Solution."
