The Cheesecake Factory Serves Those in Need During Tenth Annual Thanksgiving Day Feasts

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.-( Business Wire )-

The Cheesecake Factory® and its dedicated staff will again share the spirit of hospitality and service with communities across the country as part of its decade-long annual Thanksgiving feast for those in need. With economic difficulties and unemployment challenges leaving many families without the means for well-balanced meals, The Cheesecake Factory and its staff volunteers will prepare and serve a sit-down meal for more than 6,000 low-income individuals and families at Salvation Army locations on Thanksgiving Day.

The Cheesecake Factory’s Thanksgiving Day Feast will take place at Salvation Army locations in 13 cities including Anaheim, Calif.; Atlanta; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Houston; Long Island, N.Y.; Los Angeles; Miami; Phoenix; San Francisco; and Washington, D.C. Volunteer staff numbering more than 3,000 from The Cheesecake Factory will gather together to prepare and serve the holiday meals. More than 6,000 guests will be treated to the full-service, sit-down dinner that will include freshly roasted turkey with all the trimmings, finished with The Cheesecake Factory’s famous Pumpkin Cheesecake.

“We are honored to be serving our tenth-annual Thanksgiving Feast for those in need,” said David Overton, Founder of The Cheesecake Factory. “We are so appreciative of our more than 3,000 dedicated staff members who have graciously volunteered their time to help us serve these special guests. It is a true reflection of the spirit of hospitality and service mindedness that is central to The Cheesecake Factory’s culture.”

The annual Salvation Army Thanksgiving Day Feast is one of many hunger-relief causes The Cheesecake Factory is committed to supporting in its local communities. The Cheesecake Factory has donated more than $2.1 million to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, over the past three years which equates to approximately 14.7 million meals.

The Cheesecake Factory also participates in ongoing hunger-relief projects and events nationwide such as the “Harvest Program” in which surplus food from the restaurants is regularly donated to local food rescue operations for distribution to soup kitchens and shelters to help those in need.
