Tenet Announces Doctors Medical Center Modesto Appoints New Hospital CEO

DALLAS-( Business Wire )-Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) today announced that Doctors Medical Center has appointed Warren J. Kirk as its chief executive officer, effective November 28, 2011. As CEO, Kirk will be responsible for the strategic, operational and clinical activities of the 461-bed acute care hospital in Modesto, Calif.

His outstanding track record of performance with a focus on hospital operations, clinical quality and patient safety has proven his leadership capabilities,” said Jeff Koury, senior vice president of operations for Tenet’s California Region. “Warren’s extensive 15-year expertise as a hospital executive will be integral to further enhancing the services of Doctors Medical Center.”
Previously, Kirk served as president and chief operating officer at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, Calif. During his term at the 1,080-bed facility, Kirk established a clinical quality standard of top performance, significantly improved employee satisfaction and consistently exceeded operating budget targets in financial performance. He also led the development of a $450 million strategic master facility plan for the medical center.
Kirk plays an active role healthcare community as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served a term on the Board of Directors for the Hospital Council of Northern California.
Kirk earned his bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and health from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and his master’s degree in hospital and healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
