Time Warner Achieves Highest Possible Rating for 5th Consecutive Year in Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2012 Corporate Equality Index

NEW YORK-( Business Wire )-

For the 5th year in a row Time Warner has earned the top rating of 100 in the 2012 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, and will be recognized on HRC’s annual “Best Places to Work” list. The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.

Lisa Garcia Quiroz, Time Warner’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and Chief Diversity Officer said: “our success is inextricably tied to our ability to attract and retain the best talent, and to create an environment where everyone can thrive and grow. We’re honored that the HRC has once again recognized us for our commitment to the LGBT community and for understanding that diversity and business success go hand in hand."

The CEI rates employers on a scale from 0 to 100 based on their policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors.

Among the criteria for the CEI are equal employment opportunities, equal employee benefits, organizational LBGT competency, public LBGT-specific engagement and responsible citizenship. A company’s score determines its ranking in HRC’s annual “Buying for Equality” Guide, and businesses that achieve the 100 rating are recognized in HRC’s annual “Best Places to Work” list.
