Top Biotech Stock Movers (OXGN, PIP, ONXX, CYTR)

  New York, December 12th (TradersHuddle.com) – OXiGENE, Inc.(NASDAQ:OXGN) soared 24.75% to $1.26 on very high volume of 3.44 million shares – 8X its average volume after the company and Azanta Danmark A/S have entered into a partnership agreement to provide access to ZYBRESTAT for the treatment of patients in Europe and Canada with anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) on a compassionate use basis.

PharmAthene, Inc.(AMEX:PIP) added 2.40% to $1.28, off session high of $1.38. Today’s rally came after the stock jumped over 9% during the past week. On Friday, the stock made a new 52-week low of $1.07, but bounced back sharply in final hour on the same day.

Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc.(NASDAQ:ONXX) slid 4.90% to $38.64 after the company said that it experimental cancer drug carfilzomib will get a standard review from U.S. regulators, instead of an accelerated process sought by the company. The Food and Drug Administration earlier didn’t do clinical trials necessary for the quicker review.

CytRx Corporation(NASDAQ:CYTR) slumped 7.7% to $0.305 and made  a new 52-week low of $0.27 despite the company announced results from the open-label, single-agent Phase 2 ENABLE proof-of-concept clinical trial demonstrate bafetinib’s clinical activity and preliminary safety in patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL).
