W. R. Berkley Corporation Announces Senior Executive Appointments

GREENWICH, Conn.-( Business Wire )-

W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) today named William M. Rohde, Jr. as a senior vice president of the Company. Previously Mr. Rohde was president of Acadia Insurance Company, W. R. Berkley Corporation’s regional operating unit based in Westbrook, Maine. Douglas M. Nelson will succeed Mr. Rohde as the new president of Acadia Insurance Company.

Mr. Rohde has been promoted to senior vice president of the Company, where he will assume oversight responsibilities for its regional operating units and report to W. Robert Berkley, Jr., the Company’s president and chief operating officer. Mr. Rohde, who has more than 25 years of experience in the property casualty industry, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Texas A&M University. Robert P. Cole is continuing as a senior vice president of the Company overseeing other core activities.

Mr. Nelson joins Acadia with more than 25 years of experience in the property and casualty industry. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut and has a M.S. in Finance from Boston College.
