Piedmont Natural Gas Announces Addition to Executive Management Team

Victor Gaglio named to position of Senior Vice President and Chief Utility Operations Officer; will join the Company on February 1, 2012

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) today announced the addition of Victor Gaglio to its executive management team as Senior Vice President and Chief Utility Operations Officer.  Mr. Gaglio will join the Company February 1, 2012 and will report directly to Piedmont Chairman, President and CEO Thomas E. Skains. He will assume the responsibilities currently held by Michael Yount, who is retiring from Piedmont at the end of February, 2012.  Mr. Gaglio previously served as Senior Vice President of Operations for NiSource Gas Transmission and Storage where he was responsible for Field Operations and Maintenance, Storage, Land Services, and Health, Safety, and Environmental.

Mr. Gaglio has more than 30 years of experience in the natural gas industry in a variety of positions with Columbia Gas Transmission and NiSource Gas Transmission and Storage.  Over the course of his career, he has gained extensive experience in natural gas pipeline, compression and storage operations.  He has managed pipeline field operations, engineering, construction, large projects and budgets, pipeline integrity and compliance programs, gas control, and health, safety and environmental.  Mr. Gaglio has led individual teams and larger field service organizations through cultural transformation efforts focused on employee engagement, performance management, and continuous improvement.  

Commenting on the addition of Mr. Gaglio to Piedmont's executive management team, Piedmont Chairman, President, and CEO, Thomas E. Mr. Gaglio graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics.  He has attended executive development programs at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, and the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.  Victor and his wife Gayle, who have three grown children, will be relocating to Charlotte.
