Top Biotech Movers (IDRA, ENMD, BPAX, VVUS, SQNM)

New York, December 23rd (TradersHuddle.com) - Idera Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:IDRA) was one of the biggest gainers, surging 13.40% to $1.10 on unusual volume of 50K shares, bouncing back from its low. Earlier this week, the stock had breached a $1 level. The stock has a 52-week range of $0.95-$3.73.

EntreMed (NASDAQ:ENMD) bounced back sharply and ended higher by 12.90% to $1.05, after slumping over 35% during the past one week. Earlier this week, the stock had made a new 52-week low of $0.90. The company has a market capitalization of $12.85 million.

BioSante Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:BPAX) continued to show volatile moves after recent fall, which pulled the stock to new 52-week low of $0.38 earlier this week after reporting that LibiGel (testosterone gel) unable meet the co-primary or secondary endpoints in two Phase III trials.

VIVUS (NASDAQ:VVUS) stock bounced back 5.71% to $9.17 after slumping over 17% in the previous trading session on new safety data related to its proposed diet drug Qnexa. VIVUS  is a biopharmaceutical company. The Company is engaged in development and commercialization of therapeutic drugs for large underserved markets, including obesity and related morbidities, such as sleep apnea and diabetes and men's sexual health.

Sequenom (NASDAQ:SQNM) continued to edged higher and closed up 3.90% at $4.26. The stock has jumped over 14% in the past one week after falling to its 52-week low of $3.57 earlier in December. Today, more than 2.22 million shares traded hands, compared to its average volume of 2.19 million shares.
