Neighborhood Shop to offer full array of signature doughnuts, coffee and complementary beverages

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Jan. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- At 6 a.m. on January 3, residents of Portsmouth and surrounding communities are invited to the grand opening of the Krispy Kreme Portsmouth Neighborhood Shop, located at 4028 Victory Blvd, Portsmouth VA 23701. Grand opening activities to include fun prizes, commemorative t-shirts, tasty treat sampling and more.

"We are extremely excited about bringing our delicious array of one-of-a-kind doughnuts and complementary beverages to Portsmouth," says Cindy Bay, SVP of US Franchises and Company Stores for Krispy Kreme. "We want everyone to join us at 6 a.m. as we flip the switch for the first time on our Hot Doughnuts Now® sign, and throughout the day as we celebrate the joy of Krispy Kreme with our Portsmouth fans."

The approximately 2,000 square feet small factory shop will offer more than a dozen varieties of Krispy Kreme's one-of-a-kind doughnuts, including the signature hot Original Glazed®, a complete menu of iced beverages and the new Krispy Kreme Signature Coffee Blends.

• One free dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts every week for a year to the FIRST customer in line;
• Customers 2 through 99 receive one free dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts every month for a year;

Krispy Kreme will also host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on grand opening day featuring Portsmouth Mayor, Kenneth I. Wright, community leaders, Krispy Kreme staff and local dignitaries.
