Rubicon Technology - Top Performing Semiconductor - Mid-Day Update

New York, January 6th (TradersHuddle.com) - The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is trading lower at $373.97, representing -0.05% from its previous close. The semiconductor index is having an overall mixed day with 14 index components trading higher.

Rubicon Technology (NASDAQ:RBCN) is the top performer of the semis, trading at $9.85, which represents 3.68%. from the previous trading session. Shares of Rubicon Technology, the high-quality sapphire substrates and optical windows have defined support at $9.11 and resistance at $9.94.

Marvell (NASDAQ:MRVL) is also among the top performers, currently trading at $15.58 representing 2.3% from its previous close. Marvell, the maker of integrated circuits for communications-related markets has calculated support and resistance levels at $13.19 and $14.38 respectively. The other top performer of the semis is SanDisk (NASDAQ:SNDK), which is trading at $50.2 representing 2.22% from the previous trading session.

The semis' worst performers include Hittite Microwave (NASDAQ:HITT) that is trading at $50.65 or -1.65% from the previous close. Shares of Hittite Microwave, the maker of integrated circuits, modules, subsystems and instrumentation for technically demanding radio frequency, microwave and millimeterwave applications have defined support at $47.86 and resistance at $51.47. Also among the worst performers is NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA), which is currently trading at $14.47 representing -1.63% from the previous trading session.

Today, the Semis are outperforming the broad market index S&P 500.
