NASDAQ 100 Round Up - Higher: NFLX, APOL, VRTX

New York, January 6th (TradersHuddle.com) - The NASDAQ 100 Index is higher trading at 2355.6, which represents 0.28% versus its previous close. The index is having a mixed day with slightly more than 50% of the NASDAQ 100 components on the green.

Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) is the NASDAQ 100's top performer today with the stock trading at $86.79 representing 9.45% from its previous trading session. Shares of Netflix, the online video rental company have defined support at $67.61 and resistance at $74.58.

Apollo (NASDAQ:APOL) is also among the top performers, and it is trading at $56.89 representing 5.9% from its previous close. Apollo, the provider of educational programs has calculated support and resistance levels at $44.31 and $54.58 respectively. The other top performer of the NASDAQ 100 is Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX), which is trading at $34.32 representing 3.62% from its previous close.

The NASDAQ 100's worst performers include Sears Holdings (NASDAQ:SHLD) that is trading at $29.07 or -3.49% from the previous close. Shares of Sears Holdings, the holding company that owns and operates the Sears and Kmart retail chains have defined support at $31.94 and resistance at $47.33. Also among the worst performers Citrix Systems (NASDAQ:CTXS), which is trading at $61.54 representing -3.32% from the previous trading session.

The NASDAQ 100 is underperfoming the Dow Jones but is pretty much equal with the S&P 500. The Dow Jones Industrial Index is currently trading at 12369.3, which represents -0.37% from previous close, the S&P 500 on the other hand is trading at 1278.18 that represents -0.22% from its previous close.
