Travelers - Worst Performing Dow Component

New York, January 24th (TradersHuddle.com) - The Dow Jones Industrial Average is lower trading at 12661.7, which represents -0.37% versus its previous trading session close. The blue chip index is having a bad day by having only 9 Dow components trading higher.

IBM (NYSE:IBM) is the Dow's top performer this morning with the stock trading at $191.94 representing 1.03% versus the previous trading session. Shares of IBM, the IT solutions and consulting services provider have defined support at $177.35 and resistance at $188.71.

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is also among the top performers early in the trading session, trading at $61.32 representing 0.67% from its previous close. Wal-Mart, the biggest retailer in the world has calculated support and resistance levels at $56.32 and $61.06 respectively. The other top performer this morning is Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), which is trading at $26.89 representing 0.66% from the previous trading session.

The Dow's worst performers include Travelers (NYSE:TRV) that is trading at $58.3 or -3.3% from the previous close. Shares of Travelers, the property and casualty insurer have defined support at $52.51 and resistance at $59.89. Also among the worst performers we have Verizon (NYSE:VZ), which is trading at $37.64 representing -1.98% from the previous trading session.

Benchmark crude for January delivery is also trading lower at $97.12 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange lower by $-0.1 from the previous trading session.

The Dow is underperfoming the S&P 500 but is pretty much equal with the NASDAQ composite. The S&P 500 is currently trading at 1312.34, which represents -0.28% from previous close, the Nasdaq on the other hand is trading at 2783.58 that represents -0.02% from previous session.
