jef New York, January 27th (TradersHuddle.com) - The overall market traded lower with the S&P 500 losing 0.16%. Stocks of Broker / Dealers traded higher, with NYSE Broker/Dealer index closing the session at $92.486, which represents 0.51% versus previous day close. The index , it had 6 out of 10 components trading higher.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) was the top performer of the sector today, closing at $111.77 representing 2.96% versus the previous trading session. Shares of Goldman Sachs, the premier global investment banking and securities firm, have defined support at $90.04 and resistance at $110.90.

E*TRADE (NASDAQ:ETFC) was also among the top performers, closed the trading session at $8.19 representing 2.5% from its previous close. E*TRADE, the online brokerage and financial services provider for individual retail investors has calculated support and resistance levels at $7.61 and $9.80 respectively. The other top performer was Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), which closed the trading session at $18.56 representing 1.98% from the previous session.

The sector's worst performers include Jefferies (NYSE:JEF) that closed the trading session at $15.81 or -2.41% from the previous close. Shares of Jefferies, the independent full service global securities services and investment banking firm have defined support at $15.37 and resistance at $16.49. Also among the worst performers was Ameriprise (NYSE:AMP), which closed the trading session at $53.67 representing -1.85% from the previous session.
