Datacard Group Helps Fiserv Increase Sales Opportunities for Emerging Card Programs

MINNETONKA, Minn.-( Business Wire )-Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, today announced that Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), a leading global provider of financial services technology solutions, has purchased the new Flex-form module that seamlessly integrates with the Datacard® MXD™ card delivery system.
By utilizing Datacard Group’s new Flex-form module, Fiserv will now enable clients to personalize and affix cards to a larger 8.5” x 14” card carrier size. This is ideal for applications that require larger card carriers with more real estate for robust messaging and promotional information. Fiserv offers its clients innovative card features that get cardholders' attention to increase activation rates and transaction volumes. The company’s end-to-end production capabilities help banks, credit unions and retailers make their plastic card programs a success by increasing customer loyalty and transaction rates.
“Fiserv is an influential, long-standing Datacard Group customer, which is why we asked them to participate in a beta test of our new Flex-form module in their Shoreview, Minnesota location,” said Russell St. John, senior vice president of global marketing for Datacard Group. “After two months of successful field testing on new customer applications, the module will become part of their inline MXD card delivery system.”
“Companies often think that they only have an 8 ½ x 11 or A4 carrier size to work with, however, in today’s market, it is increasingly important to have more space for effective one-to-one marketing and communications,” said Jorge Diaz, president, Output Solutions, Fiserv. “By offering a larger card carrier, organizations can easily include promotional and educational information, as well as tear-offs, coupons and cross-sell messaging to help drive revenue and decrease expenses. In addition, we will have more room to print disclosures and expanded terms and conditions that are increasingly required by industry and government regulations.”
The Flex-form module pre-folds the larger printed carriers to the 8.5” x 11” size and turns the paper to the orientation anticipated by the MXD card delivery system. The MXD system then performs its normal functions by automatically affixing the cards and folding the carriers into C, Z or half-folds so they are ready to be inserted into envelopes.
The Flex-form module and MXD card delivery system are part of the Datacard® Secure Issuance Anywhere™ platform, which provides customers the flexibility to issue and replace and deliver cards anytime, anywhere, with complete security. This integrated platform includes scalable and flexible hardware, software, supplies, consultation and project management for card and credential management – with the capability to easily combine central issuance or instant issuance, as well as emerging mobile issuance into a single, integrated solution.
