American Express - Top Performing Dow Component

New York, January 31st (TradersHuddle.com) - The Dow Jones Industrial Average is lower trading at 12593, which represents -0.48% versus its previous trading session close.
The blue chip index is having a mixed day with downside bias by having only 13 Dow components trading higher.
American Express (NYSE:AXP) is the Dow's top performer this morning with the stock trading at $49.57 representing 0.92% versus the previous trading session. Shares of American Express, the credit card issuer and travel services company have defined support at $45.89 and resistance at $51.00.
Travelers (NYSE:TRV) is also among the top performers early in the trading session, trading at $58.35 representing 0.41% from its previous close. Travelers, the property and casualty insurer has calculated support and resistance levels at $57.45 and $59.89 respectively. The other top performer this morning is McDonald's (NYSE:MCD), which is trading at $99.1 representing 0.41% from the previous trading session.
The Dow's worst performers include Exxon (NYSE:XOM) that is trading at $83.98 or -1.77% from the previous close. Shares of Exxon, the biggest U.S. energy producer have defined support at $73.90 and resistance at $86.21. Also among the worst performers we have Alcoa (NYSE:AA), which is trading at $10.17 representing -1.45% from the previous trading session.
Benchmark crude for January delivery is also trading lower at $97.12 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange lower by $-0.1 from the previous trading session.
The Dow is underperfoming the S&P 500 but is pretty much equal with the NASDAQ composite. The S&P 500 is currently trading at 1309.22, which represents -0.29% from previous close, the Nasdaq on the other hand is trading at 2803.67 that represents -0.29% from previous session.
