WEST CHESTER, Pa., Feb. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing to set the trend in accessible designer fashion, leading multimedia retailer QVC will once again broadcast live from New York City during February Fashion Week, offering viewers an exclusive look at one of the industry's most iconic events.
On Wednesday, February 8, QVC will host a unique runway show for invited guests to introduce four new designer collections, as well as showcase the latest styles from customer favorites and preview items scheduled to launch later this month. The fashions on the runway will be styled using elements from multiple designers to present an ensemble of trends for the spring season. Celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa will work with iconic cosmetic brand MAKE UP FOR EVER to create fashion-forward looks for the runway.
On Friday, February 10, viewers can tune in to QVC at 10 PM (ET) for a live NY Fashion Week broadcast featuring ladylike looks from Cristina Ehrlich and Isaac Mizrahi; styles fit for a global expedition from debut collections created by Fern Mallis and Karen Zambos; and a femme fatale vibe from QVC veteran Marc Bouwer and debut designer Cynthia Vincent. QVC will also offer compelling, behind-the-scenes video of the fashion show and exclusive interviews with the designers about their new QVC collections.
On Saturday, February 11, a second NY Fashion Week show, scheduled to air live at 10 PM (ET), will offer the latest in urban bohemian style with new pieces from Brazilian handbag designer and model, Camila Alves and the QVC premiere of Geren Lockhart, creator of Geren Ford. Couture and contemporary designers Dennis Basso and Mark Zunino will present glamorous pieces, while editorial favorite Lori Goldstein sets out to break all the rules with her eclectic style. Additionally, viewers will see footage that only QVC can offer, including the inspiration behind the new designs and fashion industry veterans discussing the season's biggest trends.
"QVC shoppers expect more than labels: they want to meet the designers, understand their creative inspiration, and get great advice on how to translate runway looks to real life," said Claire Watts, CEO, QVC U.S. "Each season, we look forward to offering them unique access to New York Fashion Week, delighting them with new pieces from their favorite designers as well as introducing them to new QVC collections."
