The Raoul Wallenberg Centennial Celebration Commission to Ring The NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell

What:  

Members of The Raoul Wallenberg Centennial Celebration Commission will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square to officially ring The NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell. The Commission was established by the Friedlander Group to recognize the heroism and accomplishments shown by Raoul Wallenberg in honor of the centennial of his birth.

Throughout 2012, the Raoul Wallenberg Centennial Celebration Commission, an effort spearheaded by The Friedlander Group is engaged in a national campaign to highlight the incredible heroism exhibited by Raoul Wallenberg in saving the lives of 100,000 Jews during the waning days of World War II. The movement will include the ceremonial co-naming of public streets and other venues and legislation to award a Congressional Gold Medal to Raoul Wallenberg, marking the milestone of his 100th birthday and in turn, commemorate his actions and heroism.
