NASDAQ 100 Mid-day Update: Higher Top Performers: GILD, ERTS, URBN

New York, February 3rd (TradersHuddle.com) - The NASDAQ 100 Index is higher trading at 2530.43, which represents 1.39% versus its previous close. The index is having a mixed day with slightly more than 50% of the NASDAQ 100 components on the green.

Gilead (NASDAQ:GILD) is the NASDAQ 100's top performer today with the stock trading at $53.36 representing 8.21% from its previous trading session. Shares of Gilead, the biopharmaceutical company that offer drugs for the treatment of Aids and liver disease have defined support at $36.98 and resistance at $48.99.

The other top performer of the NASDAQ 100 is Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ:URBN), which is trading at $27.94 representing 5.67% from its previous close.

The NASDAQ 100's worst performers include Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX) that is trading at $36.28 or -5.47% from the previous close. Shares of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, the biotechnology company focused on developing novel small molecule pharmaceuticals have defined support at $34.10 and resistance at $38.62. Also among the worst performers Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN), which is trading at $115.75 representing -4.17% from the previous trading session.

The NASDAQ 100 is underperfoming the Dow Jones but is pretty much equal with the S&P 500. The Dow Jones Industrial Index is currently trading at 12855.7, which represents 1.18% from previous close, the S&P 500 on the other hand is trading at 1343.52 that represents 1.36% from its previous close.
