Broker Dealer Stocks Outperfomed: AMP, AMTD, MS

amp New York, February 6th (TradersHuddle.com) - The overall market traded lower with the S&P 500 losing 0.04%. Stocks of Broker / Dealers also traded lower, with NYSE Broker/Dealer index closing the session at $97.276, which represents -0.19% versus previous day close. The index , it had 5 out of 10 components trading higher.

Ameriprise (NYSE:AMP) was the top performer of the sector today, closing at $54.33 representing 1.27% versus the previous trading session. Shares of Ameriprise, the financial planning firm, have defined support at $49.14 and resistance at $55.40.

TD Ameritrade (NASDAQ:AMTD) was also among the top performers, closed the trading session at $17.52 representing 0.29% from its previous close. TD Ameritrade, the provider of online brokerage services for independent individual investors has calculated support and resistance levels at $15.92 and $17.43 respectively. The other top performer was Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), which closed the trading session at $20.36 representing 0.26% from the previous session.

The sector's worst performers include Raymond James (NYSE:RJF) that closed the trading session at $35.47 or -1.44% from the previous close. Shares of Raymond James, the financial services provider for retail investors, corporations and municipalities have defined support at $31.99 and resistance at $35.86. Also among the worst performers was Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ:IBKR), which closed the trading session at $15.15 representing -1.34% from the previous session.
