The prestigious award was presented to Xilinx during ZTE's Supplier Day 2012 event in Shenzhen, China, where the company celebrated the commitment of its global suppliers to achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction. ZTE granted awards to suppliers in recognition of their contributions to its success during 2011 and affirming the key role suppliers will play in continuing to solidify the company's position as one of the world's top three global leaders and technology innovators in the telecommunications equipment and networking industry.
"ZTE has achieved enviable revenue growth in the extremely competitive telecommunications and networking market by taking a leading role in standardization and partnering with vendors who align with our focus on ultra-high-speed wired and wireless products," said Leslie Zhong, Director of Strategic Supplier Management at ZTE. "Xilinx has continued to score above nine on ZTE's performance scorecard and is providing a 98 percent on-time first commitment delivery."
"Looking ahead, Xilinx's scalable, optimized architecture offers us a fast path to the company's 28nm 7 series FPGAs," added Xiaoming Wang, Vice President of Central R&D for ZTE. "We're excited about the potential that the company's next-generation devices and design tools offer for meeting our stringent performance and power specifications for both wired and wireless designs. Already, the AutoESL high level synthesis tools have proven a very good design method for architectural exploration, design reuse and fast implementation of complex system designs, resulting in more turns per day."
"It's an honor to accept this award for exceptional technical support, quality and delivery to ZTE's outstanding team of design engineers," said Frank Tornaghi, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Xilinx. "Our collaboration with ZTE for more than a decade has led to a company-wide strategic partnership that has resulted in dozens of breakthrough end products. The 2011 Best Comprehensive performance award is a tribute to the excellent day-to-day collaboration between Xilinx logistics, business operations, sales applications engineering and quality teams in support of ZTE."
In 2011, ZTE adopted Xilinx® Virtex®-6 and Spartan®-6 FPGAs for industry-leading telecommunications products for wireless baseband, RRU platforms, data communications systems and carrier network, switch and access network applications. With Xilinx FPGAs, ZTE has been able to accelerate design productivity and build better systems faster, increasing system performance, meeting stringent bandwidth requirements, reducing total power consumption, and slashing bill of materials (BOM) costs. Heading into 2012, Xilinx is committed to exceeding ZTE's expectations with its newest line of 28nm 7 series FPGAs and intuitive, next-generation design tools for breakthrough new telecommunications wired and wireless products.
