Residents can save up to 12 percent without any change to existing electric service
AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Residential electric customers of Potomac Edison can now sign up with FirstEnergy Solutions to receive the lowest price on electric generation currently available. By enrolling now, residents can lock in a fixed price of 6.25 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) on electric generation through September 2014. This is a 12 percent savings over Potomac Edison's current average residential rate of 7.068 cents per kWh.
"Through this program, the average residential customer can expect to save around $300 over the enrollment period, based on today's Standard Offer rates," said Julie Hextell, senior vice president of Retail Sales & Marketing for FirstEnergy Solutions. "And customers can save even more by signing up at fessave.com/potomac and getting our special online price of 6.19 cents per kWh."
Residents who choose FirstEnergy Solutions as their electric generation supplier will continue to receive one bill and the same level of service from Potomac Edison, and the utility will continue to deliver the electricity, maintain the poles and wires, and respond to power outages.
To sign up or for more information, residents should contact the company at 1-877-203-7636 or visit www.fessave.com/potomac. Discounts and savings for small commercial and industrial businesses are also available by visiting www.fes.com.
