Nationwide campaign aids struggling food pantries in Charter markets
ST. LOUIS, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 75,000 non-perishable food items were collected nationwide from customers and employees during Charter's annual Movies for Food campaign. The food items were gathered at Charter sales and service centers throughout the 25 states in which Charter operates, and were donated during December to community food pantries selected by Charter employees.

"Once again, our customers and employees demonstrated generosity in supporting our neighbors in need, which is vital to the prosperity of our communities," said Mary Jo Moehle, Charter's Vice President, Communications. "Food pantries provide a valuable service in our communities; not only during the holidays, but year-round as well."
The campaign included an opportunity for participants to receive Charter On Demand movie coupons for multiple food item donations, as well as prizes via Charter's online site. "We were thrilled with the participation this year from both Charter employees and customers, as the amount of food collected more than doubled last year's total," Ms. Moehle said.
Charter also recently concluded its successful On Demand Soldier Greetings offering, providing holiday video greetings from local U.S. military personnel stationed overseas on demand to Charter customers in each state from which the soldiers hail. Charter reported receiving more than 3,300 on demand views from customers during the campaign.
