In 2011, PR Newswire reported that the incorporation of multimedia assets into a message could drive up to 77% more visibility and engagement over text-only press releases. Over the past year, many organizations took note and leveraged the power of the ARC to deliver a wide array of assets, drive campaign success and take their public relations and marketing strategies to new levels. From event marketing and lead generation to product launches and e-commerce opportunities, the creative use of the ARC was extensive.
"The range of use of the ARC truly impressed us," said Kevin Wilk, divisional vice president, PR Newswire. "Through collaboration with our customers, each of the ARCs described below has a unique objective, its own look and feel, and its own personality."
Caesars, for example, showcased excellent use of direct response marketing for strong consumer interaction, while also promoting upcoming events and generating new leads, while Events NSW promoted the various activities of the popular Vivid Sydney festival in Australia, capturing the attention of their social networks by creating shareable videos and photos.
Driving awareness to their long-running "Kindness Counts" campaign, Sprout utilized an ARC to share several public service announcements; leveraging the influence of a recognizable spokesperson, Ann Curry, and increasing campaign participation.
Leading organizations in the travel industry, such as Apple Vacations, used the ARC to drive web site traffic and increase search engine optimization. HGTV and The Food Network, on the other hand, are prime examples of how companies in the entertainment industry could promote upcoming shows and increase social media engagement through dynamic multimedia assets.
The ARC is a powerful vehicle to reach consumers through multimedia, as proven by Kelly Blue Book's collaboration with the LA Auto Show. Through engaging photos and videos of new car models and from Infiniti, Hyundai, Lincoln and Subaru, they spurred customer interest and ultimately, web site traffic.
But the ARC is also often used as a vehicle for B-to-B communication, as exemplified by RICOH. Through keyword-optimized content, including white-papers and customer testimonials, they executed a streamlined, international campaign.
And of course, the ARC is an excellent way to broadly promote a competition or contest. The Art Institutes successfully incorporated educational information with an exciting culinary competition for budding students.

The latest update to the ARC engagement platform introduces a Touch player, which is fully optimized for mobile, tablet and touch devices, offering customers a choice of three different player options to match campaign needs and preferences.
