WALLDORF, Germany, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has received two governance, risk and compliance (GRC) Technology Innovation Awards from Corporate Integrity for its "bow-tie" builder, part of the SAP® BusinessObjects™ Risk Management application, and its mobile GRC applications, which include the SAP® GRC Access Approver and SAP® GRC Policy Survey mobile apps. Corporate Integrity, a respected analyst firm focused on helping organizations understand and improve their internal corporate GRC processes, issued its first-annual GRC Technology Innovation Awards to recognize solutions that are revolutionary and change the future landscape of GRC.

SAP is the only vendor to receive more than one award this year. GRC solutions from SAP help make risk management, regulatory compliance and safe, productive operations a standard and a consistent practice. The risk "bow-tie" builder in SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management received the award for its ability to visualize risk information in the recognized "bow-tie" format, and to maintain risks using simple drag-and-drop capabilities. The visual representation of risk allows managers and executives to more easily understand and collaborate on risk concepts, and has proven to be an effective tool to convey the importance of risk management.
SAP received a second award for its GRC mobile apps, which empower mobile workforces by delivering more consumable information and processes, enabling customers to protect value and optimize organizational performance via their mobile devices. SAP GRC Access Approver facilitates review, time-sensitive approvals and operation-critical access requests for managers, allowing authorized employees to gain access to systems and continue their work in a timely manner. With SAP GRC Policy Survey, customers can keep track of the latest policy changes within their organizations and gain efficiencies in administration and completion of policy-related surveys.
"Now more than 10 years old, the GRC market is continuing innovation to bring greater agility, effectiveness and efficiency to risk and compliance processes," said Michael Rasmussen, J.D., OCEG GRC Fellow, CCEP, GRCP, Risk & Compliance Lecturer, Author, & Advisor, Corporate Integrity. "SAP is delivering on this innovation by making risk management more efficient and effective with the visual risk 'bow-tie' analysis which is able to visually capture and portray risk information to members of management who may not be risk gurus. Further, the SAP mobile GRC solutions are providing significant agility and efficiency in managing GRC in a mobile world – whether through communicating policies and tracking attestations on mobile devices, or using mobile platforms to grant identity and access requests wherever the approver is at."
"The ongoing investments we have made in our GRC solutions – such as the 'bow-tie' builder and mobile apps – are enabling better business performance and helping customers to protect value and optimize organizational performance," said Michaela Zwinakis, group vice president, GRC solution management, SAP. "Corporate Integrity's recognition is further validation that the 10.0 release of our GRC solutions provides the most comprehensive support for management, monitoring and analysis of enterprise risk and compliance activities. SAP enables organizations to better manage their risk and compliance initiatives, better protect their values and sustainably improve performance."
