Rubicon Technology - Top Performer Semiconductor

New York, February 8th (TradersHuddle.com) - The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index traded higher at $427.6, representing 1.26% from its previous close. The semiconductor index had a broad rally with 27 index components trading higher.

Rubicon Technology (NASDAQ:RBCN) was the top performer of the semis, as it traded at $11.99, which represents 5.08%. from the previous trading session. Shares of Rubicon Technology, the high-quality sapphire substrates and optical windows have defined support at $10.40 and resistance at $12.13.

NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) was also among the top performers, closing the trading session at $16.35 representing 3.88% from its previous close. NVIDIA, the world leader in visual computing technologies has calculated support and resistance levels at $13.50 and $15.95 respectively. The other top performer of the semis was MEMC Electronic Materials (NYSE:WFR), which traded at $5.35 representing 3.88% from the previous trading session.

The semis' worst performers include Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS) that traded at $21.26 or -1.39% from the previous close. Shares of Cirrus Logic, the provider of high-precision analog and mixed-signal, and embedded processors for audio and industrial markets have defined support at $19.73 and resistance at $21.15. Also among the worst performers was (), which closed at $49.78 representing -0.04% from the previous trading session.

Today, the semis outperformed the broad market index S&P 500.
