NEW YORK-( Business Wire )-Global professional services company Towers Watson (NYSE, NASDAQ: TW) announced it has completed the latest phase of a multiyear employee benefits administration project for The Dow Chemical Company. The project involved the implementation of Towers Watson’s health and welfare administration outsourcing services, and culminated with recently completed online benefit annual enrollment for Dow’s 66,000 participants and their families.
The health and welfare administration outsourcing project is part of a larger ongoing transformation initiative at Dow to upgrade the company’s overall benefits administration and payroll processes and systems. Towers Watson has been providing defined benefit pension outsourcing services to Dow for 10 years, and this latest project builds upon that partnership. For the past two years, Towers Watson has also been delivering health and welfare administration services to employees, retirees and beneficiaries at the former Rohm and Haas Company, which Dow acquired in 2009.
“Towers Watson has been a valuable partner to Dow throughout this entire project. The feedback we received from employees was extremely positive, with many commenting on how efficient the enrollment process was, and how valuable the tools and information were for making benefit decisions. This is exactly the quality and response we've come to expect from Towers Watson’s benefits outsourcing group after so many years of working together. We’re delighted to have our full population live with Towers Watson,” said Jennifer Pettinga, vice president of compensation, benefits, payroll, mobility and HRIT at Dow.
“We are very pleased to partner with Dow, a 40-year Towers Watson client, on the successful implementation of this important health and welfare administration initiative. Our benefits outsourcing experience and capabilities enabled us to develop an approach that matched the specific needs of Dow and its employees,” said Pat Amendola, North America leader of Technology and Administration Solutions at Towers Watson.
