Panasonic Announces Winners of ‘Shoot It. Share It’ AG-AF100 Online Video Contest

Panasonic today announced the winners of its ‘Shoot It. Share It’ online video contest, featuring the AG-AF100 Larger Imager HD Cinema Camera. During this year’s ‘Shoot It. Share It’ contest, filmmakers could submit short entries shot on Panasonic’s AF100 in six categories. A judging panel selected the top three semi-finalists in each category, the public voted online to choose category winners, and the judges reconvened to name the Grand Prize Winner.

Recipient of the grand prize for his music video featuring Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist Dave Koz is director/cinematographer Graham Streeter. His winning video, “This Guy’s in Love with You,” is a soulful music video released in the name of marriage equality. In addition to musician Dave Koz, the video includes a sly cameo by trumpeter Herb Alpert, whose 1968 version of the Burt Bacharach/Hal David song was number one on the charts. He will be awarded a Panasonic 42” TH-42BT300U Pro Plasma reference Monitor and Vocas Micro Four Thirds to Prime Lens adapter, prizes valued at more than $5,000.

First place winners were announced in the five additional competition categories. Voted for by the public, each winner receives a Vocas Matter Box and Rail System. First-prize category winners are as follows:

Short Film: “First Date” by Kyle Bethea. “First Date” is Bethea’s comical insight into the psyche of a boy and girl preparing to go on their first date.

Nature and Wildlife: Botswana Safari by Bryen Hensley. Eyes on Africa, an African safari travel and guide company, takes us on a tour of the magnificent wildlife in the Botswana brush.

Documentary: Maggie’s Place by David Hildreth. This documentary preview takes us on an emotional tour of Maggie’s Place, a program that places homeless pregnant women in “homes of hospitality” that provide a refuge and care.

Commercial: Rivera Skateboards by Brandon Moore. This visually stunning commercial features skateboarders turning a variety of beautiful landscapes into their own personal skate parks.

Student Film: Word by Tara Trudell. This film is a personal profile of Tara Trudell as she visually expresses her love of poetry and its therapeutic effect on her life.
