Energy Savings and Back-up Power for Senior Living Community

WALTHAM, Mass., May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American DG Energy Inc. (NYSE MKT: ADGE), a leading On‑Site Utility, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to hospitality, healthcare, housing and athletic facilities, today announced that it has reached an agreement with Prospect Park Residences, an assisted living facility in Brooklyn, New York.  Under the agreement American DG Energy will install a 100kW combined heat and power (CHP) system with convenience standby generation.  The value of the fifteen-year agreement to the Company is $1.9 million.

Prospect Park Residences is a full service senior living community with a commitment to service with "Senior Care You Can Count On." When their old generator needed to be replaced, Prospect Park Residences was left without backup power and they were seeking ways to pay for the replacement.  American DG Energy will install, operate and maintain the CHP system that will provide low cost clean energy through space heat and domestic hot water, plus backup generation at no cost.

On-Site Utility

American DG Energy sells the energy produced from an onsite energy system to an individual property as an alternative to the outright sale of energy equipment.  On-Site Utility customers only pay for the energy produced by the system and receive a guaranteed discount rate on the price of the energy.  All system capital, installation and operating expenses are paid by American DG Energy.
