Eaton Vance Pennsylvania Municipal Income Trust Report of Earnings

BOSTON, May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Pennsylvania Municipal Income Trust (NYSE MKT: EVP) (the "Trust"), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Trust for the three months ended February 29, 2012. The Trust's fiscal year ends on November 30, 2012.
For the three months ended February 29, 2012, the Trust had net investment income of $551,084 ($0.203 per common share). From this amount, the Trust paid dividends on preferred shares of $9,818 (equal to $0.004 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $541,266, or $0.199 per common share. In comparison, for the three months ended February 28, 2011, the Trust had net investment income of $651,902 ($0.240 per common share). From this amount, the Trust paid dividends on preferred shares of $22,717 (equal to $0.008 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $629,185, or $0.232 per common share.
Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended February 29, 2012 were $2,444,156 ($0.899 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended February 28, 2011 were $1,824,787 ($0.672 per common share).
On February 29, 2012, net assets of the Trust applicable to common shares were $38,419,962. The net asset value per common share on February 29, 2012 was $14.13 based on 2,718,119 common shares outstanding. In comparison, on February 28, 2011, net assets of the Trust applicable to common shares were $34,425,978. The net asset value per common share on February 28, 2011 was $12.67 based on 2,716,608 common shares outstanding.
