HGTV and HGTV Magazine Launch Search for the Most Embarrassing Living Room in America

NEW YORK-( Business Wire )-

Who has the most embarrassing living room in America? HGTV and HGTV Magazine have teamed up to find homeowners with outrageously outdated and embarrassing living rooms. Beginning Thursday, May 24, at 9 a.m. ET/PT through Thursday, July 12, at 5 p.m. ET, homeowners across the country can vie for a chance to win a living room makeover and finally say goodbye to their orange shag carpeting, popcorn ceiling or other flashback-inducing design faux pas. To enter, homeowners can submit photos or video to HGTV.com/livingroomcontest that shows why their living room needs a complete redo. One lucky winner will receive a total room transformation designed by HGTV’s Meg Caswell. In addition, the makeover will be featured in a special episode of Meg’s Great Rooms and included in an issue of HGTV Magazine.

“We are excited to surprise someone with such a big makeover,” said Sara Peterson, editor in chief of HGTV Magazine. “Meg is one of HGTV’s most talented designers and together we’ll make sure this winner gets an amazing new space.”

During the special, Meg will pull out all the stops to give the room a fresh custom design from top to bottom. Meg’s carpenter, Marc Bartolomeo, also will help her transform “The Most Embarrassing Living Room in America” into a beautiful new living space.
