Arbitron Mobile Appoints Director of Sales for U.S. Operations

COLUMBIA Md., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Arbitron Inc. (NYSE: ARB) announced today that Derrik Dennis has joined Arbitron Mobile Oy ("Arbitron Mobile") as the Director of Sales. Mr. Dennis, who was formerly the product director for The Nielsen Company's telecom practice, will report to Dr. Hannu Verkasalo, Senior Vice President of Arbitron Mobile. He will be based in the San Francisco area.
Mr. Dennis will lead the sales efforts of the Company's mobile measurement solutions, such as the syndicated Arbitron Mobile Trends Panels™ service in the U.S. He will also be working closely with Arbitron cross-platform services and advertiser and agency teams.
"As the use of smartphones and tablets continues to grow exponentially, our ability to understand how consumers are interacting with these devices, both online and offline, positions Arbitron Mobile as an important resource for app developers, content providers, and mobile marketers," said Dr. Hannu Verkasalo. "With Derrik's solid background in mobile, telecom, and client service, he brings strong skills and expertise to our U.S. sales efforts."

During his six years at The Nielsen Company, Mr. Dennis held positions in client services and product leadership within the telecom practice. He was responsible for the Nielsen Mobile Insights study platform and laid the groundwork for expanding the study both in scope and geography. Prior to joining Nielsen, Mr. Dennis worked at Revcube, where he held the position of Manager of Analytics. Mr. Dennis graduated from Florida State University.
