F5 Networks Launches Informational Video on the Changing Security Threat Landscape

SEATTLE-( Business Wire )-F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, has added an informational video to its web media collection that details how the global security threat landscape is rapidly evolving. The three-minute animated video shows how the global threat landscape has changed dramatically in ways unfathomable just a few years ago. Due to this growing complexity and the rise of many unknown forces in conflict over information, ideologies, and causes, organizations must rethink how they protect their network, applications, and data from ever-changing threats. To respond, businesses need to be more vigilant about monitoring threats to their networks, applications, and resources. Agile organizations are converging security services to address the three primary vectors of the modern data center threat spectrum: (1) Traditional network attacks; (2) Complex DDoS attacks on HTTP and DNS; and (3) Application-level vulnerabilities.
“The IT world has been impacted dramatically over the last several years as these diversified, unpredictable security threats are on a sharp rise, hurting businesses’ bottom line and reputation,” said Mark Vondemkamp, Sr. Director of Product Management at F5. “This is compelling enterprises to scrutinize and rethink their strategy to effectively secure their network, applications, data, and users under a single, unified platform that traditional security and point solutions just do not offer.”
A newly published paper by Infonetics Research entitled A New Firewall for the Data Center is also available. The paper explains how the “webification” of the data center is causing a shift in security requirements.
“Security threats are ever-evolving, but the pace of change has grown exponentially in the past five years,” said Jeff Wilson, Principal Analyst, Security, at Infonetics Research. “Traditional safeguards are designed to protect static networks and applications, but as this video shows, the security threat landscape is incredibly dynamic, and organizations are looking for new ways to secure their information assets in order to keep up.”
