NEW YORK-( Business Wire )-Childhood dreams of playing in the majors are one step closer to becoming reality for Citi® customers. This summer, Citi® Private Pass® is offering unforgettable experiences to be coached by John Calipari, attend camps with David Ortiz, Cal Ripken Jr. and Henrik Lundqvist and caddy for professional golfers. Citi Private Pass offers Citi credit and debit card customers access to the best in sports, live music, dining and family entertainment through special presales, access and VIP experiences.
“Whether our customers want their kids to get coached by champs or to play alongside the pros, we’re giving them more ways to enjoy the game,” said Ralph Andretta, Head of Co-Brands and Loyalty at Citi Cards. “Citi Private Pass delivers exclusive experiences and access to the heroes of sports.”
Exclusively for Citi customers and their families, Citi Private Pass is hosting a baseball training camp with Boston legend David Ortiz. The camp will take place in August 2012 in West Roxbury, with details soon to be announced on www.citiprivatepass.com.
“I’m excited to partner with Citi Private Pass to create a unique baseball training experience for families in Boston this summer,” said David Ortiz. “From practicing, hitting and fielding, I hope it will be an experience they remember as long as they play.”
Citi customers can send their kids to a camp with Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bill Ripken this July, where they will enjoy preferred pricing and a private luncheon. The camp includes daily instruction and games, a day at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium and a ticket to a 2012 Orioles game.
“Our camps allow kids to learn the game at a wonderful facility while having a great time. We really want kids to love the game and keeping it fun is an important part of our teaching philosophy,” said Cal Ripken, Jr. “We are confident that the Citi customers who have their kids attend the camps will learn terrific fundamentals, meet new friends and enjoy themselves.”
At ten upcoming instructional camps for kids, Citi is offering exclusive athlete luncheons with Dwight Howard, Henrik Lundqvist and other pros.
Citi Private Pass also offers adult fantasy sports experiences where customers can play with the pros over a weekend, or be coached by a college hoops legend.
“I’m thrilled to share the excitement and passion I have for basketball with fans,” said coach John Calipari. “For Citi customers that share my love for the game and have always wanted to experience basketball at a high-level, this camp is a unique weekend of championship-level fun here in Kentucky.”
