Ampal is Negotiating an Investment and Sale of a Minority Holdings in Gadot Chemical Tankers and Terminals Ltd.

TEL AVIV, Israel, July 11, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ampal-American Israel Corporation (Nasdaq: AMPL) confirmed today that it is engaged in negotiations with an international investor (the "Investor") to invest in Gadot Chemical Tankers and Terminals Ltd. ("Gadot"), a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Ampal, and to purchase a minority equity stake in Gadot from Ampal. The existence of the negotiations was reported in the Israeli press.

There can be no assurances that the negotiations with the Investor will be successful or that any agreement will be signed for an investment in Gadot.
