SAIC Awarded $76 Million Task Order By U.S. General Services Administration Federal Systems Integration And Management Center

Company to Provide Analytical, Operational and Intelligence Services in Support of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO)
MCLEAN, Va., July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a task order by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center to provide Continental United States-based analytical, operational and intelligence services in support of Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) Counter-IED Operations/Intelligence Integration Center (COIC) mission integration, training and operations functions. The task order has a five year period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $76 million. The task order was awarded under the JIEDDO COIC Operations Support services contract vehicle.
JIEDDO provides counter-IED capability in support of combatant commanders to enable the defeat of the IED as a strategic weapon of influence. It does so by rapidly developing innovative equipment and technology, training troops and providing them with expertise. Under the task order, SAIC will provide analytical, operational and intelligence services needed to effectively support the collection, analysis, and dissemination of counter-IED information, tools, and techniques to defeat human enemy networks that employ IEDs.
